❌ What I Don’t Invest In
We are focused exclusively on capital efficient tech startups with global ambitions:
❌ We do not invest in services businesses or other companies that do not have a core technology aspect to them
❌ We do not invest in companies that are inherently capital intensive (companies that require millions of dollars of investment just to build a prototype)
❌ We do not invest in companies that are focused exclusively on Canada (we love our home country, but it’s not a big enough market)
None of this is a judgement about these types of companies — they’re just not a fit for Panache 👏👏

Will you actually read my submission?
Yes! Every single submission will be reviewed and will receive a response. I will respond with either:
An invitation to schedule a call
Feedback as to why it’s not a fit
What information do I need to submit?
The application form includes questions about your startup, business model, traction and fundraise, as well as some other questions to help me get to know you.
Do I need to include a deck?
Yes. While some folks still debate the question of whether or not to send a deck before a first meeting, I am unapologetically on the side of “I want to see the deck before we meet.” That way, I can either move forward more efficiently or save us both time.
Can I send you a video instead?
No. I’m not going to watch it.
That might seem harsh, but it’s true (so better I tell you up front). Like most investors, I can review written materials far quicker than the time it takes to watch a video. Moreover, it’s important to me to see how you present your company in written form, since that’s an important skill for founders to have.
If you’d like to include a link to a product demo video, that’s awesome! But please do not submit a video of you presenting the company in place of a deck.
You mean I might not get to pitch you?
Correct. If, after reviewing your submission, I believe that it’s not a fit for Panache, then I don’t want to waste your time or mine. Remember, that doesn’t mean you’re not building an amazing business — it just means that it’s not currently a fit for us.
How long will it take to get a response?
I review all submissions every 2 weeks.
Does my company really have to be a “Canadian 🇨🇦” company?
Yes. Panache focuses exclusively on supporting early-stage Canadian 🇨🇦 founders.
What qualifies as a “Canadian 🇨🇦” company?
The company must be domiciled (registered) in Canada and/or have its primary operations in Canada (e.g. a Toronto-based company that is registered as a Delaware C Corp).
